PICNIC IN MERE SANDS WOOD Nature Reserve JULY 2009
One Sabbath afternoon the sunshine and warm breeze was too good to miss, so we set off with picnic hampers and rugs for the wooded forest in Mere Sands (West Lancashire). This picnic however, was a little different. Although some just brought sandwiches, others just could not do without a hearty warm curry and rice, which made for a perfect meal as the birds sat watching from high-up on their branches. Despite virtually all the food disappearing, when the homemade strawberry and cream cake made an appearance, it is amazing that you can always find room for a little bit more!
